RELATIONSHIP, DATING, AND INTIMACY ISSUES

Have you ever wondered why you seem to attract the same type of person over and over again, only to find out they aren’t emotionally available? Have you ever wondered why you struggle to feel close to someone, either because you have a paralyzing fear of rejection or you feel an insatiable need for closeness that somehow never feels like enough? Attachments are formed from the earliest relationships with caregivers, and the need to repeat these patterns are our own creative way of trying to repair that which was broken. Unfortunately, it rarely works without the help of a focused therapist who can help excavate the idiosyncratic primary relationships which inhibit healthy intimacy.

ANXIETY AND STRESS

Many people experience overwhelming anxiety and stress in their daily lives, often causing them to struggle to make proactive decisions that they feel good about. I providing concrete tools and coping skills so that you can better navigate these often conflicting choices and we will work together to sift through the complexities.

MEN

I have a particular area of interest in working with men who are either embarking on an intimate relationship or who are in search of more meaning within their relationships. My approach to working with men is guided by psychoanalytic training, but I remain flexible and sensitive to the particular needs of men in the world today.

EXPLORATORY WORK

For those who wish to pursue general exploratory work, I offer a deeper, more intensive practice, using psychoanalytic inquiry into motivations, drives, and impediments in order to enrich and develop deeper self-reflection and emotional growth.

PERSONAL MEANING

I work with people who struggle to find meaning in their lives and who feel perpetually underwhelmed and without purpose. This sometimes manifests itself as general malaise, the feeling that nothing truly matters, or chronic procrastination. Together we will strive to uncover the inhibitive forces relating to you.
